making a change
Selling the car aside, December brought another big change for me: After four years (and many elections) with washingtonpost.com, I started a new job with the design team at NPR. The organization is making a big investment in its digital strategy and has made some smart hires, and there’s the potential to do a lot of good in a short amount of time.
I’d forgotten the general discombobulation that comes with starting a new job — forgetting names, not knowing who to talk to for what, not knowing the computer systems, etc. — but I’m slowly settling in and starting to have fun. I’m looking forward to what this year will bring — and how I can be a part of it.
