Vacation Recap: Bryce Canyon National Park

Swamp Canyon overlook (and clouds)

So I wrote a long blog post about visiting Bryce Canyon National Park in southern Utah, and then the system timed out and ate it. But I can sum up what I wrote in a few words:

Just go there. It’s amazing.

(And if you’re feeling really ambitious, plan a whole southern Utah expedition and hit Zion, Bryce, Escalante, Canyonlands and Arches.)

Bryce Canyon hasn’t quite eclipsed Arches as my favorite national park, but it’s way up there. We started at the south end of the park, then worked our way back north to the Bryce Canyon Amphitheater, the big showcase. Photos don’t really convey the awe-inspiring enormity of it (though of course I tried).

Love the pics! Arches has something different, doesn’t it? It’s still my favorite too. But you can’t really go wrong in Southern Utah (unless of course you end up in La Verkin.)
